This is the first of a new live music series that will feature regional musicians in a relaxed atmosphere from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the DAAC Arts & Cultural Center, 1740 Calle de Mercado in Mesilla. Dry Point Distillers will offer a cash bar with cocktails and non-alcoholic options. The first Classical Drinking event will feature La Catrina String Quartet with special guest Jim Shearer. The Museum of Nature & Science, 411 N. Main St., presents “Super Scientists,” drop-in activities on listed Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. During the Las Cruces Arts Association members meeting from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Cruces Creatives, 205 E. Lohman. LCAA has invited Vicky Avery to demonstrate creating mandalas. Avery is originally from Minnesota. She has earned a BA in Fine Arts, MA in Divinity and years of experiences in theater. Avery worked with multi-media and has been commissioned to create pieces, most recently have been working with colored pencils to create mandalas. Guests welcomed. Family Freedom Festival
Veterans of Foreign Wars 10124, 709 South Valley Drive, will hold a Family Freedom Festival from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be family-friendly activities for all ages, including a bounce house, pitch burst games, cornhole, refreshments and more.
